Recovered Money …..

Nick Fredsall of Nick Fredsall Electric is also the founder and operator of Spotted Turtle Treasure Hunting.  He’s been metal detecting around the school’s front and back fields and has collected $187.00 in loose change:  317 pennies, 122 nickels, 264 dimes, and 609 quarters.  Nick has given this recovered money to the MMRHS Athletic Department. Sunday November 23rd, 2014   Dear Will, It’s been a long time since you’ve been dead and gone, but I hope you somehow know that I think of you every day. All of the others do as well, and today especially, we send our love. We are forever grateful to you for unwittingly brining us together. Some people might laud your writing as the best thing you did, but I would argue against that. The noblest thing you did was bring all of us together, accidentally and serendipitously.  I hope you know I will do anything to preserve your memory, to tell your stories. For you, William, I will dress as a man or as an ass, I will survive the greatest shipwreck or the worst broken heart, I will start a war over tennis balls or avenge my father’s murder or rob a shepherd out of house and home. I will do absolutely anything to ensure that the world still hears your voice.  I am just a child, Will, sometimes trembling in the wake of the greatness you have left behind. Your stories move me past believing. I am knit up in a world of memories not my own. They were all yours, Will, and they are all ours, now. I am a child, meek and insignificant against the grand monuments of your plays, but your characters have taught me the world beyond, before, and within my own youth.  For you, Will, I will spend hours, days, weeks, years, lifetimes, on a wooden platform with bright bulbs hot in my vision.
